Patient Access To Their GP Record
By April 2015, all GP practices in England are mandated to offer residents online access to their records. Practices should put this requirement in place as soon as possible after 1 April 2014 and must, by 30 September 2014, publicise its plans to achieve the requirement by 31 March 2015.
Summary Care Record
A Summary Care Record is an electronic record which contains information about the medicines you take, allergies you suffer from and any bad reactions to medicines you have had.
Having this information stored in one place makes it easier for healthcare staff to treat you in an emergency, or when your GP practice is closed.
Further information is available on the NHS Website.
All patients are automatically opted into the Summary Care Record. If you wish to opt out, please speak to a receptionist and they will do this for you.
